Pharmacy First Forms Collaborative Partnership with Medversant’s Provider Compliance and Monitoring Program and NCPDP’s resQ™ Pharmacy Credentialing Resource

Pharmacy First, a leading Pharmacy Services Administrative Organization (PSAO) supporting a network of independent pharmacies, has partnered with Medversant Technologies, LLC to collaboratively bring together a robust credentialing, compliance and monitoring program for Pharmacy First members.

Medversant’s management platform is a comprehensive verification solution for CFR 455. It automatically monitors OIG status, DEA certifications, malpractice monitoring, state and federal monitoring as well as primary source verifications of staff. Medversant will integrate with NCPDP’s resQ™ pharmacy credentialing resource.

resQ™ pharmacy credentialing resource is a product of NCPDP, the problem-solving forum for healthcare and ANSI-accredited standards development organizations. resQ™ offers secure, complete, and up-to-date self-reported pharmacy data and credentials maintained in the pharmacy’s NCPDP Profile. resQ™ captures licensures, PIC and required CMS 42 CFR 455 regulatory information and credentialing data, including ownership details, insurance, sanctions and disciplinary information, as well as service-level data and supporting documentation requested by PBMs.

“With various industry demands for maintaining credentialing, our pharmacies are required to complete multiple credentialing platforms, creating redundant islands of information,” said Amanda Schaeuble, Vice President of Managed Care Operations for Pharmacy First. “There was a need to create uniformity for our pharmacies and PBM partners. This robust platform will capture the variety of requests for information, while saving our pharmacies time. We are taking our credentialing to another level.

NCPDP and Medversant together will fulfill our organization’s credentialing, accreditation and compliance requirements while maintaining the highest level of quality and accuracy.”

Pharmacy First Launches Enterprise Reconciliation

Pharmacy First, a national network of more than 2,300 independent pharmacies, announced the launch of a new Enterprise Reconciliation System designed for multi-store owners. Historically, pharmacy reconciliation services have focused on one store/one owner and cannot represent the pharmacy’s book of business as an aggregate or corporate view. Enterprise solves this problem by presenting top-line performance indicators and the overall financial picture in a management dashboard. The dashboard clearly and concisely shows current receivables, payments and performance across all locations while allowing drill-down to the store and even claim level when needed.

Performance and Simplicity

“Over the last several years, consolidation in the industry has created the scenario of one individual owning more than one pharmacy location, significantly complicating operations and the management of cashflow across the organization,” said Bob Dickey, CEO of Pharmacy First. “Building on our rock-solid reconciliation engine and recovery service, Enterprise raises the bar and closes this gap for multi-store owners and small chains.”

As pioneers in the industry, Pharmacy First has provided transaction-level reconciliation services to independent pharmacies since 2003 and is the most trusted vendor, reconciling almost $4 billion annually for our network pharmacies.

Pharmacy First/Third Party Station Unveils New Corporate Identity

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — Pharmacy First/Third Party Station, a national network of more than 2,300 independent pharmacies, has announced the launch of its new corporate identity. The company will now be known as Pharmacy First.

While the organization has enjoyed years of success serving independent pharmacies, it now aims to further increase brand awareness nationally and better communicate the value of its products and services.

Pharmacy First was founded in 1996 (as Wholesale Alliance, LLC) to support the success of independent pharmacies. The organization purchased Third Party Station in 2006 to assist members with health plan contract negotiations and related services. With a vision to be the pharmacy services administrative organization (PSAO) of choice across the country, Pharmacy First will continue providing its expansive portfolio of services designed to keep independent pharmacies competitive in markets that are increasingly dominated by big-box retailers.

“Our new, revitalized brand reflects our continued commitment to our members,” said Robert Dickey, CEO. “We are creating new opportunities to expand our national footprint while still providing the quality, access and service our members deserve and expect.”

The name change is accompanied by a new, modern logo. The new tagline, Partners in Excellence, represents Pharmacy First’s commitment to quality, service and access, as well as its position as a champion and advocate for independent pharmacists.

“These exciting changes expand our strategic position as a robust, national pharmacy network and PSAO,” said Todd Wormington, R.Ph, MBA, who joined Pharmacy First as Director of Pharmacy in 2017 and brings 25 years of diverse pharmacy industry experience to his current role. “We are in a great position to expand and better serve the needs of our members, which in turn allows them to improve the care they provide to their patients and customers.”
