This program is perfect for a ‘two birds, one stone’ approach, as it allows your pharmacy another source of revenue while also working on mitigating DIR fees. Throughout 2021, OutcomesMTM provided our network with several million dollars in CMR opportunities alone, so please be sure to check out the platform if you have not recently logged in.
As we wrap up the end of the year, OutcomesMTM frequently provides even further incentives for completing TIPs and CMRs. Additionally, be sure to start with your CVS patients as the CMRs can also be counted against you in their Performance Network Program (DIR fees).
Pharmacy of the Quarter
Pharmacy First is congratulating one pharmacy for both quarters 3 and 4 due to their excellence in OutcomesMTM utilization. This quarter we are highlighting Thrifty Way Pharmacy, an independent pharmacy from Lake Arthur, Louisiana. This pharmacy has successfully completed a large portion of CMRs and TIPs provided by OutcomesMTM over the years. We had the privilege of speaking with Paul Meaux from Thrift Way Pharmacy as they shared their insights into the business.
What caught your interest to get you to start using the OutcomesMTM platform?
Thrifty way has been using OutcomesMTM platform for many years now, but we slacked on the importance of using all the services that are provided. Once we realized the effectiveness of the platform, we buckled down and made it our goal to achieve a cleared dashboard each week. OutcomesMTM has been a huge help to our customers by ensuring the best therapeutic outcomes for each patient in a timely manner.
How often do you login to OutcomesMTM and where do you start?
We try to login to OutcomesMTM at least once a day. When some days are too busy, we make it our goal to log in and clear our dashboard by the end of the week. Once logged in, we go to the dashboard and ensure there are no urgent or expiring opportunities. We then work from top to bottom of the dashboard.
What workflow changes have you made to be able to implement the OutcomesMTM platform?
The only changes we have implemented were to prioritize OutcomesMTM in our weekly goals and to start having a technician login to the system daily (if possible) and alerting the pharmacist of what needs to be done each day/week.
Do you have any technicians trained on the platform and what is their role?
No, we do not have any technicians that are technically trained on the system. The only thing my technicians are allowed to do is login and alert the pharmacist of the opportunities on the dashboard and inform the pharmacist of what needs to be done each day.
What is the most useful aspect about OutcomesMTM?
The most useful aspect of OutcomesMTM is being able to prioritize our customers and connect with them on a much deeper level by phone or in person to review their targeted medication. With the extra support and guidance OutcomesMTM brings, we can increase each customers adherence levels. We have found that even the adherence of medications not in the targeted consultation will have increased adherence as well!
